[IRCA] TP 4 Dec Victoria version

Mostly into the bucket this morning. The usual suspects were heard 1100-1200UT, but gradually became poorer and poorer, so that except for occasional audio from 774 it looked like a shutout by 1500UT. A couple of Chinese turned up at sunrise, and HLAZ reappeared after a two hour absence for a reprise after 1738UT

Essentlially, no aurora, K=0, signals = 0

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK man and woman in Japanese 1516UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

774 JOUB English lessons 1507UT "I like your shoes"
828 JOBB English lessons 1518UT
1566 HLAZ woman in Chinese 1543UT, piano music. Reprise at 1738-40UT with man in Korean; still could hear man talking weakly at 1816UT when the recording quit

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

747 JOIB sign off anthem and music box 1535UT
1593 CNR-1 woman then man talking //6125 1552UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

945 CNR1 man talking, seemed //6125 and 1593 1541UT; also a woman singing ballad was on channel (not //NHK1) so a mystery
981 man talking 1510UT, could be Chinese? CKNW-980 nulled as best as possible
1017 unID soft music 1511UT; CRI off by now, and not //NHK2, so ???

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter) lots of near audio here

621 756 819 891 1098 1242 1332 1503

best wishes,

Nick
