[IRCA] TP 22 Nov Victoria version

Although the signal strength recordings said that there was quite a lot of Asiatic activity up to 1100UT or so, things went downhill after that, and by 1400UT, not much at all. A bit of a lift around 1500UT, mainly favoring the Japanese big guns, though with 4QR-612 doing quite well also. And then...gradual fade out by 1530UT

And then....fade in again before 1700UT; hadn't heard HLAZ before this morning, heard them now, and quite loud too. Logged the CNR1 on 945 also, though that was based on pips. HLAZ didn't stop delivering some sort of audio until after 1730UT.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

612 4QR much weaker fanfare heard at 1500UT, but peaked at this level 1507UT, man in DU English
747 JOIB English lessons 1516UT
1566 HLAZ 1700UT man in Korean, no pips on hour. Program of Christmas music vocals before and after hour. Various fade ups, though not quite to this level at 1645, 1647, 1649UT, 1709 and 1714UT. Still a bit of audio at 1732UT, man talking, and "What Child is This" recognizable tune. (apparent jammer also heard at 1707UT?)

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

774 JOUB English lesson 1508UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

594 JOAK man talking in Japanese 1506UT, briefly peaking

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

567 JOIK man talking 1459UT, pips on hour, later ID'd also by //594
945 CNR1 man mumbling 1645UT, and again a bit stronger 1659UT, Chinese inflection, and then CNR pips on the hour; Murphy on vacation apparently
1287 man mumbling 1712UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter) lots of near audio here

best wishes,

Nick
