Asian DX dropped off a little in comparison to yesterday, but the session still had its interesting moments. 603-HLSA managed its best signal of the new season (very good) at 1341, while the Chinese mid-band stations on 1017, 1035 and 1044 made fair appearances in and out during a moderate sunrise enhancement. And yes, the 1566-Jammer was back for the 5th day in row, dominating a somewhat anemic HLAZ at 1253-- although the tables were turned after 1300, when Chinese high-band propagation (tracked by 1593's carrier) fizzled out completely, leaving HLAZ in the clear for a monster-level Japanese service sign-off at 1343.
Try to get a better idea of the 1566-Jammer's pattern, I started off the session at 1240. At that time both the Jammer and HLAZ were anemic, but the Jammer built up strength somewhat until 1253, when it was all by itself for several moments. HLAZ came back at an equal level during the MP3 linked below, until both stations fizzled at 1300. Shortly after 1300 there was unusual poor-level audio from a presumed 936-Anhui, along with fair audio from both the 1035-CNR1 synchros and 1044-CRI's Japanese service (both of which were in and out until 1345). The Japanese and Korean big guns on 594, 693, 747, 774, 828 and 972 were somewhat down in strength compared to yesterday, but the 1053-Jammer was as strong as ever (with the same apparent Chinese co-channel as yesterday). Sunrise enhancement took a while to really kick in, but at 1341 the Korean low-band regular 603-HLSA hit its strongest level yet this month (very good) with American classic pop music (the new KBS2 female host apparently plays the same kind of music as last year's deep-voiced male). 657-Pyongyang's tirade woman was almost in a mellow mood around 1343, while a weak mix of 738-BEL2 and an UnID mainland Chinese station showed up at 1345. On the high band 1575-VOA reached a fair to good level around 1330, before finally fizzling around 1345.
Just before that I rechecked 1566 for HLAZ's Japanese service sign-off at 1343, finding HLAZ at a monster level with no sign of the Jammer. Not surprisingly, the 1593 carrier had fizzled completely, a clear sign that propagation from east China was comatose. For those searching for the 1566-Jammer, you will almost certainly need some kind of signal on 1593 (a moderate carrier or better) in order to track it down.
603 HLSA Namyang, S. Korea American classic pop "Sugar Town" at a very good level at 1341; best signal of the new season

657 Pyongyang BS Pyongyang, N. Korea Tirade woman in an almost mellow mood at 1343-- thought I might have had the wrong station

1566 Jammer + HLAZ Jammer pretty much in the clear at 1253, but HLAZ comes back to an equal level during the MP3. Both fizzled by 1300, following the pattern for the last 5 days (the Jammer has never been heard after 1300 here, as east China high band propagation has always fizzled at that time)

1566 HLAZ Jeju, S. Korea Japanese service sign off at 1343 at monster level-- completely in the clear with no Jammer (after east China high band propagation, as tracked by 1593, completely collapsed)
