Thanks to Dennis and Colin for their TP reports. The NHK stations seemed quite a bit stronger here than in Kalama, with the Japanese big gunsÂon 594, 693, 747Âand 774 all managing very strong audio during a generous sunrise enhancement. Other somewhat unusual Japanese stations on 1053 and 1134 also showed up at times, and the NHK big guns on 594 and 693 stuck around until about 1400.ÂThe usual Koreans on 972, 1053 and 1566Âhad good audio in and out, although theÂcommon second tier Asians on 603, 657 andÂ738Âsuffered somewhat of a dropoff in comparison to yesterday.Â
My session started at 1255 with the usual potent signal from 1566-HLAZ's Japanese service, along with fair signals from the Japanese on 594, 693, 774 and the 1053-Jammer. The NHK big guns all received a serious boost from increasing daylight around 1315, and were joined by the Japanese on 828 and 747 at very good levels. The 1053-Jammer started to haveÂfair-level competition from a presumed JOAR around 1320, while 1134-JOQR also rose up above the Vancouver splatter to manage fair signals in and out. By contrast yesterday's star performer 738-BEL2 never could reach more than poor audio, while 603-HLSA waited around until 1340 before coming out of the noise with pop music at a fair level. 657-Pyongyang never reached more than thresholdÂaudio (maybe that's a good thing?) and 972-HLCA's good-level variety program couldn't really break free of "Freedom 970" splatter.ÂLate on around 1335 the session's best performer 594-JOAK put on quite a show with Japanese rockÂmusic at a very good level, hosted by a couple of fast-talkingÂyoung males. Overall it was a potent session for the NHK big guns, but pretty modest for everything else.
