[IRCA] DX Conditions 10/17

FILIPINOS!

Finally a decent morning for Filipinos. Not a fantastic morning for
them, but at least they showed up. Infact I logged a new one for me.
DZAR-1026-25KW-Makati (Metro Manila).
  This is the best Filipino morning I have heard this season. At 1445
UTC, I heard a talk show on 1026 kHz talking about the Philippine
Military and the the Philippine President. Not bad with the man in
Tagalog and the woman in Philippine accented EE. At the same time DZEC
1062, DZXL 558, and DYHP 612 were all in well. Plus another one on 531
khz weakly. Probably the Catholic station which did sound Rel.  Here, cx
started out rather poor when I got up at 1340 UTC. Just basically the
big guns, but that all changed as it got closer to LSR. I also heard
JOWM 1071 (5 KW) with time pips and ID in JJ (STV) at 1500 with a
cluster of spots too.
   With the high AU level at 7, the more Northern Asians did not seem to
have the "punch" to dominate as much. But they were still there like
Korea 972 & 603 with decebnt signals. One only MW Russian heard, 576. On
LW 279 was very good, with 153 & 189 weaker.
