Hi Alan,
I've been on the list for a year or two and a member of IRCA for the most
part of 25 years. Alan, how long have you been an active member of IRCA? As
you should know, the amount of input on this list goes up or down depending
on topics that are brought up. I find that I'm not too interested in the
material from the east coast, because most doesn't pertain to what I know or
can hear. (All emails don't have to be reviewed, just check the subject
title.) Occasionally the conversation goes off track, but not very often. I
don't regard any of it as fluff, especially when you have 10-20 DX'ers
talking about AM radio, DX catches, past or present . I've read all the
emails from the current thread from front to back and prefer it over a week
of silence... actually I'm completely enjoing it. Unlike some other types of
lists, AM radio topics can be wide range. Long histories, personalities,
programming changes. This is what makes it different than a list only for
those who own a certain brand and model of radio. This time of year, full on
AM DX starts slowing down and this can be expected. I do want to say thanks
to those who "input" to this list for broadening my knowledge of AM radio as
well as alerting me to catching many stations that I hadn't previously
heard. It is invaluable and you have my tip of the hat. I also thank the
IRCA for not putting an expressive noose around my neck.
73- Doug
