Jerry, I doubt the efficacy of this, as it is possible to null a point
source easily enough -- but the noise generator he is describing is many
miles long. It may be possible to use a Beverage antenna aimed away from
the power lines, but that would make it possible to receive only stations
located in a specific area of the world. I would suggest a balanced,
shielded loop antenna as the best way to reject the E-field from the
lines. I used to live close to some 67-kV lines and did pretty well with
unbalanced, shielded co-ax loops.
