anncr.  Then at 0956, mx came up briefly before being blown away by WYFR
s/on at 0957.  Extremely weak.  Will take an excellent opening to log

2205- 11784.92- IRAQ- R Iraq Int, t/in French at 2205, 2230 into
English, s/off with anthem to 2300. Lots of announcements, brief news at
beginning of transmission, mostly music sprinkled with announcements of
mail address. At the s/off clearly mentions (incorrectly) 11890 as the
frequency for this transmission. Signal quite strong throughout the
hour, but audio tinny as if on a telephone line feed. Nevertheless the
audio is considerably better than the UT evening Arabic release on
11292v; that is almost impossible to understand due to the low

audio today, enough so that the s/off a-cappella choral selection
sounded like the gospel hymn "Abide With Me."  No other clues to ID,

2300- 3970- UNID- UNID R.  2300*  The same big carrier here last year at
this time is coming through once again every day from around 2215. Audio
is mostly nonexistent as before, except today a few segued Europop
vocals could be faintly discerned. Possibly an announcement at 2258;
possibly a choral march to s/off. Not // Kaduna on 4770, Yaounde on
4850, or Enugu on 6025. Surely SOMEBODY in Europe or Africa must have an

2300 then clock and ID 'RAdio Malaysia .....'  (here not clear ) with YL
speaking ??? , then continues with music and SINPO 24132 . Next day at
2205 till 15 with again songs and a discussion betw OM and YL Signal
vanished at 2225 . Very  strong noises from lightnings to levels 24131

Anniversary QSL cards, program schedule, and information on the Canadian
International DX Club in 111 days, signed by Bill Westenhaver. NOTES The
reports for Radio Canada International were sent in the same envelope
with that of CBM-940 kHz. The verification signer at CBM relayed the
reports to Radio Canada International, and the QSLs arrived a week after
the QSL from CBM! (Bueneman-MO, USA)

ERITREA - I received a QSL this week from the Voice of the Broad Masses
ofÿ Eritrea, 7020 kHz, on 18 July 1997, for reception in December 1993!
Apparently going back through old correspondence. Came via airmail, from
Ministry of Information, Technical Branch, Box 243, Asmara, Eritrea.
Card gives all details, including  language of broadcast (Tigrigna).
