Re: [IRCA] [mwcircle] Eclipse Monitoring

Solar eclipse in northern Europe today. There was quite a bit of monitoring activity, looking for signal enhancement, and not just from medium wave DXers. This from MW Circle list:

The results of all the RSGB experiments are coming in, but it will be days/weeks before all the WSPR and Reverse Beacon Network data can be analysed.

Nice to see a few schools getting involved with medium wave, and good to see they got an enhancement.

Early results have been posted at:

The consensus seems to be that everyone saw an enhancement on MW, which is good as otherwise I would have ended up with egg on my face!

For me, BBC Radio Scotland 810kHz improved suddenly within two minutes by 10dBm at 09:30, and was back down by 09:32. BBC Radio Wales 882kHz goes from -72dBm at 09:19 to -63dBm at 09:28, and back to -77dB by 09:34.

The enhancement was much more short-lived than I had thought it might be.
