[IRCA] TP's & DU's for Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Listened from 1235-1403 utc.  DU's faded out at 1354 and TP JOAK 594 was last heard at 1402 utc. 6 Russian long waves heard this morning. The rare Radio Rossii outlet on 171 kHz in with a very weak signal. Japanese stations ruled the MW band early with a reception on 1062 of one of the Japanese independent stations with Japanese by a woman speaker. Australians heard around sunrise with a good signal from 2NR with news talk for about 4 minutes. Tahiti not heard this morning after trying a few times during the 1300 utc hour. Bet Guy had a great morning on the Oregon Coast. 

153      RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1235-1239 good signal with American Blues song.

171      RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1346-1345 very weak signal with much static and American Blues song. Seldom heard station.

180      RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1240-1241 fair signal with American Blues song. Static crashes. 

189      RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1242 good signal with another American Blues song.

234      RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1244 fair signal with man in Russian and a lot of static.

279      RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1245 good signal, less static and another American Blues song.

567      JAPAN, JOIK NHK1 1308 fair signal with heavy splatter and // 594.

576      UNKNOWN, 1309-1312 song "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" weak to fair at times. Not ABC National 2NR. Faded after song.

594      JAPAN, JOUB NHK1 1301 weak signal with a lot of splatter. Man in Japanese. Fair at 1308.

603      REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLSA 1314 weak signal with piano music and man in Korean.

693      JAPAN, JOAB NHK2 1315 weak signal with man in Japanese and a lot of splatter. 

738      AUSTRALIA, 2NR 1343-1347 good signal at times with man talking about coal wholesale prices. Best signal have I ever heard on this                  station. 1347 Talk on American banks. Fading at 1348.

747      JAPAN, JOIB NHK2 1317 fair signal with splatter and man in Japanese. 

774      JAPAN, JOUB NHK2 1254 good signal with English Radio Conversation program.  

792      AUSTRALIA, 4RN fair to good signal at times with woman singing. Matched live stream. Program "The Daily Planet"

828      JAPAN, JOBB NHK2 1304 fair signal with man in Japanese. 

972      REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLCA good signal with woman/man in Korean. KUFO moderate splatter. 

1044     CHINA CRI? 1326 brief poor audio with woman talking. Weak at 1327 with woman in Japanese?

1062     JAPAN 1331 very weak signal with woman in Japanese. Splatter free channel. Many Japanese Independent stations on channel.
         Weak at 1333 with woman in Japanese accompanied by piano. 

1053     REPUBLIC OF KOREA, 1328 jammer all alone on top of channel. Good signal. 

1143     JAPAN? JOBR? 1336 very weak signal with piano music. No language heard. Guy reported this station from Coast.

1206     CHINA, 1339 fair to weak with woman in Korean? Best on SW ewe.

1287     JAPAN, JOHR HBC 1340 fair to weak with woman/man in Japanese.

1566     REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLAZ 1305 fair signal with man in Japanese and moderate splatter. 

1575     THAILAND, VOA 1305 fair signal with woman in Vietnamese. (PALs).
