[IRCA] 540 CBGA-1 QC could go silent!

As reported in the current North East radio Watch (www.nerw.com): ""Out in the Grande Anse region of eastern Quebec, Radio-Canada wants to shut down
the 10 kW transmitter at CBGA-1 (540 New Carlisle). It's applying to replace
that AM signal on the Gaspe peninsula with five lower-powered FM signals: 104.5
Perce, 93.3 Chandler, 92.5 Port Daniel, 104.3 New Richmond and 98.7 New
Carlisle."" That will certainly clear 540 a tiny bit here in Ontario, though still have CBEF Windsor ON to contend with. CBGA-1 often comes in, echoing with CBEF. Maybe this will make St. John's NL easier to hear, like in the old days. Certainly it will clear out 540 quite a bit for east-coast DXpeditions. Saul Chernos
