[IRCA] Brier, WA TP's for 10/19/10



Somewhat below average conditions for the Asian TP's here. Japan and Korea prevailed with some good signals among the big guns, China mostly absent. Only AK noted was KTKN, first time I've heard it this season dominating 930 Khz. Four LWBC R.Rossii in again but down in strength from yesterday. Nothing new in the log this morning.


Following times sampled this morning: 1300Z, 1335Z, 1400Z, 1415Z for 1-3 minutes each using Perseus.

558  HLQH Daegu (S Korea) fair with music and KK talk 1415Z
594  JOAK NHK1 Tokyo (Japan) Fair at 1400Z
648  VOR poor at 1400Z
693  JOAB NHK2 Tokyo (Japan) Fair at 1400Z
729  UNID Probably JOCK,  Barely in audio with male talking 1335Z
747  JOUB  NHK2 Sapporo (Japan) fair at 1415Z
774  JOIB Akita NHK2 (Japan) Good at 1415Z
828  JOBB NHK2 Osaka (Japan) Very good at 1300 and 1415Z, best JA this morning
930  KTKN Ketchikan AK Well on top of everything and clear legal ID at 1400Z
936  Anhui (China) presumed, poor at 1415Z
972  HLCA Dangjin (S. Korea) Very good, loud and local-like at 1415Z with man in KK
1053 Bubble jammer (S Korea) Good, best heard in two weeks 1335 and 1400Z
1053 UNID station at equal strength with jammer around 1400Z 
1134 UNID, probably Hwaseong KBS, sounded like KK music, too little talk to ID language 1358Z
1422 UNID  in poorly at 1415Z
1566 HLAZ (S Korea) Huge, local-like at 1300Z with JJ prgr
1575 VOA (Thailand) poor at 1415Z
