I can remember having this conversation once before on this, possibly with
you Russ. My MD recorders are Sony - do you have a Sharp, by chance? I
recall there were Sharp models that didn't exhibit this hash.  I use the MD
on my table radios all the time, but the diffrence is that they are attached
to external antennas. I presume this is why they are not affected.

My patch cord is about 3' long - I can try a longer one and see if that
makes a difference.
