Re: [IRCA] max groundwave propagation distance

When I first moved to Vacaville, CA in 1988, was amazed
at the signal KFI 640 put into the Vacaville area. Listen able
signal throughout the year in the daytime. This was using
a car radio in a 1984 Mustang. Driving I-80 from the SF Bay
Area with signal would appear a few miles before Suisum City
and continue as I-80 hit the Sierra Nevada foothills. 354 miles
as the crow flies for LA to Vacaville. I don't know for sure, but
would think that the daytime signal could easily hit the Redding, CA
area. It's all valley from the Grapevine to Redding.

When KSTE 650 started broadcasting late 80's or earlier 90's
the splatter kill KFI's signal on the car radio. KNX 1070 puts
out a nice signal at night, but could not make the distant during the
daytime.
