I haven't tried Audacity, but Colin makes a valid point - if you're
going to record in .wav format, you're going to have to deal with large
files - especially if you set long unattended sessions. That's a
different issue which goes beyond any individual software. But IMHO,
for DX purposes, mp3 is more than adequate and offers all sorts of
variations in settings to compress either more or less.
