I knew Gene when he and I where ham-band dxers though methinks he dx'ed 
other modes. Going to see him one time but visit fell through. Lost touch 
with him 30+ years ago. Talked to him on the phone a few times. Lived in 
Vallejo and I think worked at Mare Island shipyard at one time. Nice person.
