Re: [IRCA] VS: SK info

Hi,
I live in Manitoba, just an hour's drive east of the Saskatchewan
border, however I am unable to confirm whether or not CJNS 1240 or CJSN 1490
are still on the air. They are just a bit too far away for daytime reception
for me and at night it's next to impossible for me to ID anything on either
of these 2 frequencies; just too many stations coming in from all
directions.
Regarding moving to FM, it's possible for a graveyarder to be on the air
after the 3 month simulcast period expires. I have a local station 30 miles
away; CKSB-1 860 St. Rose, MB. with a 40 watt transmitter relaying CKSB
1050 St. Boniface (a suburb of Winnipeg). Last year they were granted a move
to 92.9FM with a 3 month simulcast period. They began testing on FM in the
beginning of September of last year with tones and began broadcasting
regular programming on FM in the beginning of November last year. Today, 13
months later their 40 watt AM transmitter is still on the air and I don't
know if they will ever shut it down.
