Re: [IRCA] KABN (Re: Halp!)

Scott,

Thanks again. I was a teenager when KSWB Seaside applied and I don't
remember a whole lot about it. A local "concert promoter" got the
licence and sold it to Jim Dennon and The Brothers Four (Singing Group)
and in 1968 they signed it on. I have their first Equipt. test QSL'd
from 1968. The station signed on the air on 930 khz with 1 KW Daytime
only. Then in the mid 80s they got the ok to move to 840 and go fulltime
(1 KW day/500 watts night ND). But even in the mid 80s, I don't
remember them having to jump through a lot of hoops to get the on to
move. In the early 70s the station was sold to a several partners out of
Glasgow MT. They had the station from about 72 to 90. Then it was sold
again to a Rel. BCer that had it for a could years, sold it again to New
NW BCers, and then they sold it to a local owner. Who also bought the
Cannon Beach FM and have the Combo now. 840/96.5.

73,

Patrick
