[IRCA] TP 10 Oct Victoria version.

Yes, probably a bit of a fallback, with some DUs showing up, but not spectacularly. There were a fair number of second, even third tier Japanese turning up briefly, but mostly not there at all.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK woman in Japanese 1413UT

747 JOIB English lessons1405UT

774 JOUB English lessons 1405UT

828 JOBB man in Portuguese 1347UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 JOIK man in Japanese 1358UT

693 JOAB English lessons 1404UT

702 NHK2 English news about elections on Okinawa, part of English lessons? 1418UT

891 JOHK woman in Japanese //594 1401UT

972 HLCA man in Korean 1407UT

1287 JOHR woman in Japanese, better on north Flag

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

567 RNZ National man with US accent being interviewed //675 1407UT

612 JOLK woman in Japanese briefly at this level 1409UT, //594

666 JOBK man in Japanese //594 1347UT

675 RNZ National man with US accent being interviewed //567 1407UT

954 JOKR man in Japanese 1351UT

1287 JOHR man in Japanese 1400UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

531 JOQG man talking //594 1411UT

558 HLQH soft music 1419-21UT; weak //603 at 1421UT

585 JOPG man talking //594, o/possible 7RN 1354UT

603 HLSA soft music //558, barely making it 1421UT

612 man talking DU English intonation 1404UT, but quickly buried by JOLK

729 JOCK woman talking //594, sneaking past 730 splash 1402UT

738 Taiwan Fisheries, pop music //1143 1358UT, man talking underneath, assumed Korea

756 RNZ National woman talking //675 1403UT

837 JOQK man talking //594 1356UT

846 NHK1 man talking //594 1357UT

918 woman talking Japanese intonation 13512UT

963 woman talking, DU English intonation 1404UT

1017 man talking, Korean intonation 1408UT

1053 man talking, Japanese intonation after Japanese pop 1359UT, likely JOAR

1116 man talking DU English 1404UT

1242 woman talking maybe Japanese; no pips heard

1143 Taiwan Fisheries, pop music //738 1358UT, man talking underneath.; also //738 with man in possible Chinese, 1415UT

1422 man talking Japanese intonation 1410UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

 639 864 909 1008  1089 1098 1386 1458 1494 1503 1566 seemed to be Asian;
 549 576 585 909 1503 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
