[IRCA] Alberta TPs for 15 October 2017

Much improved on yesterday, with more audio, as well as stronger and more numerous carriers. Still all DU, though that almost goes without saying here this season. Some audio noted as early as 1200, which hasn't been the case for the past couple of weeks.
549 2CR Orange, AUSTRALIA Weak, but could make out ABC news fanfare distinctly at 1300.
576 2RN Sydney, AUSTRALIA Could just make out ABC news fanfare at 1300. A bit better with man talking 1338. 

594	3WV	Horsham, AUSTRALIA	Weak, but definitely ABC news at 1304
612 4QR Brisbane, AUSTRALIA Female host talking with man on the phone at 1339. Heard ABC news fanfare at 1400, first time audio's been that late this season.
657 Star Wellington, NEW ZEALAND Presumed the one with traces of music in heavy CFFR 660 splatter at 1323. 

675	RNZ National	Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND News by woman at 1201

684	unID		Traces of music at 1310.
702 Magic Auckland, NEW ZEALAND Coming through the ABC with 70's pop song at 1317
702 2BL Sydney, AUSTRALIA Had reclamined the freq with talk between man and woman at 1320 

729	5RN	Adelaide, AUSTRALIA	Traces of talk by woman at 1356

738	2NR	Grafton, AUSTRALIA	Woman interviewing man at 1321, //702

747	4QS	Toowoomba, AUSTRALIA	Man talking at 1326
756 RNZ National Auckland, NEW ZEALAND Fair-good at 1328 with vocal by a woman, //webstream. 

774	3LO	Melbourne, AUSTRALIA	Time pips and into ABC news at 1200.
792 Brisbane, AUSTRALIA Woman speaking at 1306, then into music. For some reason, this one was rather an underperformer today. 

846	2RN	Canberra, AUSTRALIA	ABC news fanfare at 1300
891 5AN Adelaide, AUSTRALIA Talk by a woman at 1329, then ABC news fanfare at 1330.

1098 unID Traces of talk at 1252, sounded like Newstalk ZB but too weak to be certain.
1116 4BC Brisbane, AUSTRALIA Good signal with host talking with caller about juvenile justice, then into song by Elvis Costello at 1242.

1386	Radio Tarana	Auckland, NEW ZEALAND	Weak, with singing at 1331

1413	unID	Traces of woman talking at 1334
1503 Radio Sport Wellington, NEW ZEALAND US sports talk about fantasy football at 1304.
1548 4QD Emerald, AUSTRALIA Far from signals of a few days ago, but audible with woman intervieiwing a man at 1336.
1584.02 Coast Napier, NEW ZEALAND Very weak with music at 1306, but was able to confirm song on web site. It's almost made audio several times of late, but this was the first time this season to actually get any.
This list looks rather more impressive than was truly the case. In many causes audio was fleeting, but as well as live DXing I had more time to check my recording than is typically the case during the week. Having said that, it was still a decent morning, and much more interesting than yesterday. The X-band didn't participate in the upswing though, with not much happening there today.
