Re: [IRCA] TP 18 April Victoria version

It went quickly back down to 2 at 1200 and 0 at 1500. But today up to 6 at 0600 and 5 now at 1200. I think it will be quiet here later today.

Oddly, now that there has been a K index of 5, we're back mainly to Asians....and not too many of those. Peak between 1240 and 1300UT roughly.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

not quite; the NHK2 heavies came close at times

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

594 JOAK man and woman in Japanese 1243UT
747 JOIB English lessons 1250UT
774 JOUB English lessons 1242UT
828 JOBB English lessons 1250UT
972 HLCA man in Korean 1251UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

612 4QR man in DU English 1307UT, last man standing up

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

702 NHK2 man talking //774 1247UT
891 JOHK man and woman talking //594 1247UT
1134 man talking rapidly, seemed Japanese inflection? sports? 1248UT
1143 music, woman talking briefly, too quietly for language guess, more music 1258UT
1287 woman talking quickly, Japanese inflection1249UT
1566 woman talking, possibly Japanese 1241UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

864 954 1206  1242  1323  seemed to be Asian;
576 1098 seemed DU

best wishes,

Nick
