[IRCA] TP 20 Aug Victoria version

Quite an erratic mess, with signals from Japan to New Zealand, sometimes all at once, and rarely in long enough for any serious listening.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

not today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

1566 HLAZ sudden fade up (and down) man in Japanese 1242UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

612 4QR "ABC news" by man after fanfare 1300UT
738 pop music 1154UT
828 JOBB man talking Japanese 1133UT
1287 JOHR man in Japanese 1143UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

576 woman talking slowly 1246UT, DU English inflection; gone by hour
594 man talking, Japanese inflection 1139UT
603 rock music 1247UT
675 RNZ National slow vocal music 1148UT //756 which was weaker yet
702 2BL man DU English? into pop music //612 1254UT
747 man and woman talking, sounded like English lessons? 1247UT
756 man and woman DU English sounding 1310UT
774 JOBB? sounded like English lessons 1256UT fading into music, sounding like 612 and 702; gone by hour 828 man speaking rapidly, horse racing? TAB Trackside?? yet JOBB fading on top of it 1135UT. Unusual combination
909 Star few bars of music //963 which was weaker yet 1303UT
1053 Korean jammer 1152UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

567 792 1035 1098 1116 1386 1503

best wishes,

Nick
