[IRCA] TP 24 Dec Victoria version
The Asians are returning...slowly.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
594 JOAK...the latest to arrive, and the biggest, 1558UT full service
signal, man in Japanese leading to pips and NHK ID
(774 came close to this level a couple of times)
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
738 likely Tahiti. pop vocal 1323-1325UT
774 JOUB various times at this level from 1320UT onwards, but most
impressive were the s/off chimes 1543UT
972 HLCA woman in Korean 1432UT, then light pop music
1566 HLAZ Christmas choral music 1328UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
the above passing through
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
612 man mumbling 1534UT
1116 man talking 1534UT, likely DU English
1386 NHK2 synchros s/off chimes 1544UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
873 1503 1575
best wishes,
Nick
