[IRCA] TP 10 Oct Victoria version

Almost all DU, but actually not all that impressive by the standards of some other mornings in the last few weeks.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

not quite; 612 was making a run for it.

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 4QR apparent news //774 and lagging by a half second? 1402UT; maximum level with ABC news mention at 1405UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

702 2BL country music, woman in DU English 1344UT, //774 at 1346 which was fading up as this was fading down 774 3LO woman and man talking //702 but leading by up to one second. Must be getting their feeds off the internet, very confusing 1116 4BH assumed with 6 pips on hour 1400UT, then faded up to man in DU English, and a woman giving a report of some kind

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

576 2RN jazz at 1356UT, seemed to be //792 but darned if I could figure out who was leading or lagging
594 3WV pips and fanfare at 1400UT
738 Afro pop likely Tahiti 1342UT
792 4RN jazz 1341UT, then man talking; a short while later //576
828 3GI pips and fanfare 1400UT
855 4QO/4QB countryish music 1353UT, not //774 which was DU English by man, but was //612 and lagging it 909 Star? laid back female vocal 1359UT, butchered by 910 on the hour, apparently hosting a firing squad
1098 man talking 1347UT, DU English inflection
1575 man and woman 1359UT; nothing worthwhile on the hour, by 1409UT had faded up enough to make a guess that this was in a SE Asian language of some kind

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

567 675 891 1242

best wishes,

Nick
