Hello All,
Â
Overall Asian results here this morning were closer to Dennis' version than Colin's NHP fish barrel report, but Dennis and I apparently tracked down different sets of second-tier Asians. I can agree with Colin that conditions were not nearly so favorable as two days ago, however.
Â
At my 1250 start time it was mostly a big gun revue here, with 594-JOAK, 747-JOIB, 972-HLCA and 1287-JOHR all having good signals in and out. There were some interesting but weak signals coming up in the predawn darkness, though, including a ghostly 648-VOR (apparent Chinese), the usual Pyongyang-Chinese mix on 657, 738-BEL2 with its Chinese variety program and the CRI stations on 1017 (Korean)Âand 1323 (apparent Russian). Sunrise enhancement didn't really kick in until around 1350,Âby which time the CRI stations had long since bailed out. 603-HLSA rose up to a fair level all alone around 1350, along with a fluttery mix of 657-Pyongyang and its Chinese co-channel. 738-BEL2 had been at an anemic level fighting KCBS splatter until about 1414, when it took over the frequency with a bizarre Chinese radio drama at a fair level. Although the Japanese big guns on 594, 747, 774 and 1287 were vibrant throughout the session the best Asian signal was from 972-HLCA, with strong Korean male talk around 1345. Although the session didn't have nearly the fireworks of two days ago it wasn't bad for this solar-challenged season, with fairly good signals at times from Japan, Korea and China.
