Hello All,
Lackluster Asian propagation shifted somewhat this morning from the Japanese big guns to the Koreans and Chinese, but it was still far from inspiring. A different set of die-hards broke through the noise during a modest sunrise enhancement, but the overall result was little different from yesterday's.
At the 1240 start time a few big gun TP's were managing weak audio on 828, 972, 1287, 1566 and 1575, but none of these stuck around for more than a minute at a time. At 1253 a rather unusual station for the mediocre propagation, 1323-CRI, rose up out of the noise with fair signals to join these other die-hards, with female speech sounding more Chinese than Russian (I recall that CRI has unusual programming variety on 1323, according to Bruce). The usual Japanese die-hards on 594 and 693 were strangely silent during this predawn darkness. A routine sunrise enhancement around 1305 brought 594-JOAK, 603-China, 738-Chinese (presumed BEL2), 747-JOIB, 1044-CRI, the 1053-Jammer and 1134-KBS out of the noise with poor to fair signals, but none of them sounded very energetic. 972-HLCA did manage a fair peak in "Freedom 970" splatter around 1320 to become the most vibrant TP signal of the session, but that wasn't much of an honor this morning. Overall it was a fairly dreary session, similar to the past three days.
