[IRCA] TP 9 Aug; Victoria version

A ton of carriers today, also, with a fair bit of audio, but pretty erratic...you had to jump on things.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

1566 came close

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

1566 HLAZ although there was audio traces earlier, this popped up nicely at 1230UT with FEBC and HLAZeto IDs, mention of Nihongo, and into "What a Friend I Have in Jesus" at good volume on the piano, faded down to where the lady wishing me "kombon wa" was barely audible.

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

738 likely Tahiti w/pop mx 1245UT, FF inflected talk earlier
774 likely 3LO at 1255UT, man in DU EE, faded to the hour, but heard 6 pips
1287 JOHR man in JJ briefly 1231UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

279 man talking, RR inflection? 1129UT, followed by female folky mx vocal
531 traces pop vocal mx 1219UT
612 man talking DU EE inflectgion 1241UT
756 R. NZ National, female vocal mx, maybe a musical? //819 which was somewhat weaker.
765 slow vocal mx w/steel guitar 1241UT, NZ?
828 rapid talk DU EE? horse racing? 1248UT
882 laid back vocal mx 1205UT
891 two men talking, maybe DU EE 1249UT
972 woman talking, too much splash for language ID 1221UT, but would guess KK
1053 KK jammer barely there 1215-1217UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

621 657 702 792 837 846 855 909 918 936 963 1008(SAH) 1035 1116 1215 1323 1503 1593 (mix of carriers) 1638 1683.002 and 1683.225 (Radio Club AM?) 1701

best wishes,

Nick
