Re: [IRCA] True oldies mystery station on 850

MOYL is Adult Standards, which refers largely to music from 1935-55, non-rock variety. Oldies started in the mid 1950's, and is generally considered to have run through the mid-to-late 1960's. Classic Hits and Classic Rock are overlaps with the primary difference being that the former simply excludes the harder rock. Those were primarily from the late 1960's thru the 1970's. Rock encompasses Oldies, Classic Hits and Classic Rock.

There are still a number of stations running Adult Standards, which caters to the parents of the 'baby boom' generation. I suspect that Adult Hits, which is another rather recent category, might be a euphemism for Oldies, but most of the Classic Hits formatted stations I'm aware of don't go into the 1950's, nor even the early 1960's.
