Re: [IRCA] Apollo 13

I would like to think my Parents had me in front of the TV to watch Armstrong and Aldrin, but I never asked them. I remember watching a daytime Apollo launch at school when they wheeled in a TV on a rolling cart. Today, we can just show things from a computer or television feed on a screen in our classrooms.
I also remember staying home from school to watch the first launch of the Space Shuttle. I have it on an audio cassette somewhere. We were in Cape Canaveral for the last Shuttle launch and I have that on a video tape that I shot. A scanner beneath the camera provides background audio with a feed from Mission Control.

I mention that because it's the ONLY Apollo mission that I remember watching on TV back when it was happening. :)

I don't know if the scenes were added for dramatic purposes or not, but it has always puzzled me whenever I see it. I meant to ask a long time ago and seeing it tonight on BRAVO made me think about asking. I'll ask Ron Howard the next time I see him. :)
