[IRCA] TP's & DU's for Saturday, October 20, 2012

Absent for 9 days Radio Rossii showed up this morning on 279. Poor conditions for Asian stations. 3LO showed up while listening for JOUB 774 with pop music. Tahiti managed a good signal briefly at 1411 with music. Noticed that the K index was at 0, I was expecting better conditions this morning. VOA Thailand 14°24'22"N,100°46'48"E is only 50 miles Northeast of Bangkok. Google earth the transmitter site and see the 3 towers and large transmitter building. Have a fun Saturday.   

279  RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1242-1246 fair signal with instrumental music. HPAW. 10/20/2012

209  ALASKA, Yakataga CYT 1251 fair signal with forecast for SW Alaska. HPAW. 10/20/2012

594  JAPAN, JOAK NHK2 1404 very weak with woman in Japanese. W-SW ewe. 10/20/2012

738  TAHITI, Radio Polynesie 1253 weak signal with moderate splatter. Man in French. 1404 fair signal with man in French followed by music. Good at 1411 with music.  W-SW ewe. 10/20/2012

774  AUSTRALIA, 3LO 1342-1344 weak briefly while waiting for JOUB to show up. Pop rock music that matched live stream. W-SW ewe.

828  JAPAN, JOBB NHK2 1254 weak signal with moderate splatter with singing. W-SW ewe. 10/20/2012

1566 REPUBLIC OF KOREA HLAZ 1356 very weak signal with talk. 1407 Man in Chinese, weak signal. NW ewe. 10/20/2012

1575 THAILAND, VOA 1350 poor signal with woman in Asian language. Moderate domestic splatter. W-SW ewe. 10/20/2012
