One year in Newfoundland major aurora completely wiped out Europe, leaving nothing but Algeria and the Canaries audible, but it was a rare opprotunity to snag Angolans and some other deep south Africa stations. Makes sense to aim for 1088 when 1089 is flattened.

Very weird propagation here as cx hardly tent to recover from the last storm. Now at 19:20 EDT, a faint trace of the Angolan on 1088 but UK's 1089 remains totally deaf as it is for most of the MW band!
