Re: [IRCA] KRPI DX test heard in Southern California
That wouldn't be the KOQT test on 3 January 1977 Mike? My gosh,
that's historical, as it turns out that I arranged it, and the
engineer sent me a list of to whom he had sent verifications. Yes,
there's your name on the letter. I think that Jerry Starr in Ohio
was the most distant DXer that time, so this one did even better by
the sounds of it.
Thanks for arranging the test. (yes, the two different pitches of
code just before 1am PST were heard here, under Vancouver, WA, hi)
best wishes,
Nick

The KRPI DX test was heard fairly well here in the Long Beach CA
area. Massive strings of morse code cut through the grumble and XEBG
qrm. I have logged them many years ago as KOQT Bellingham on another
DX test, so this was rather nostelgic for me. Receiver used was the
trusty GE Superadio 2. Thankfully qrn and slopover from KMPC 1540
was minimal tonight. Thanks so much for arranging this program!
