[IRCA] Re 900 Khz (Victoria)
CKMO can go further up the east Vancouver Island coast than CFAX because CKMO's TX Island is east of Victoria while CFAX's tower island is more directly south of a higher than tower elevation in the east end of the city (Oak Bay) which might cause the 1070 signal to drop from a 100 % to 95 or so and as a result is weaker to the northwest. Near the coast in Comox BC it is still possible to get CFAX but away from the water it disappears.
