Hi Walt,

Well, concerning the weak TA audio last night on MW (your 
783-Mauritania) and LW (my 162-France) here on the west coast, I guess 
that the glass is either half empty, or half full (except in my case, 
the glass was probably more like 10% full!).

After suffering through the mediocre MW season so far, though, I 
suppose that even weak TA audio on Longwave is just what the doctor 
ordered (even though a stronger dose tonight might help).

Wow, Gary. Those clips are definitely "burbles in the splatter". Very 
hard
to make anything out at all to these ears. Still, picking up *anything 
*on
LW is an achievement on this coast, especially with a ahem, "compact"
arrangement such as yours (I'd NEVER want to try and take that baby 
through
security!!!) is truly amazing. I bet the reception would be fine if only
you could take it out to a park or similar, away from local noise 
sources!
