Re: [IRCA] [NRC-AM] WXYG 540 Sauk Rapids, MN

So these guys are finally on full time!! I've struck out many times trying for them but perhaps they weren't on.

My new 500 ft BOG due west nulls pest WAUK (due north) very well and lets me listen to KWMT daytimes well atop. Once KWMT drops to 170 watts, they are still in there weakly before CBK takes over, but since WXYG seems to put somewhat more signal this way (also 15 minute window this month between sunset switches) they should be possible for me.

If I ever get a non T-storm evening I'll try for them. They are one of 3 stations I need to complete MN.

Being on such a low frequency where groundwave gets out really well, especially in the rich soil of the upper Midwest (see KFYR, CBK for some huge coverage), I would think they would need to take great effort to limit the signal to the north and west. On the other hand, Jackson Wisconsin isn't so far away to the southeast, and Fort Dodge Iowa isn't so far away to the southwest. Their assigned power of 1000/250 might not seem like much, but given the above, this thing could really get out.
