I don't recall this being mentioned in this thread, but if it has, please forgive me for repeating it.

Wolfman Jack, AKA Bob Smith, and his wife had an easy-listening music program on one of the Shreveport, LA, stations back in the late 1950's. I think the station was either KRMD-1340 or KCIJ-1480.

George Carlin started in radio in Shreveport, too, while he was stationed at Barksdale AFB across the Red River in Bossier City, LA.
