Re: [IRCA] WSM's nighttime coverage

The move ro 650 was around 1985, I believe.

WSM has been fairly common here in western Manitoba this winter at times overriding Saskatoon; normally it's quite rare here. Speaking of Saskatoon, does anyone remember when 650 went on the air there? In the old days WSM was a regular nighttimer here and many folks around here would tune in to the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday nights. Unfortunately the vast majority of these folks have since passed on and the few remaining don't remember exactly when Saskatoon killed the reception of WSM here.

They've been a regular everywhere I've lived, including the MA north shore and thee Black Minin' Hills of Dakota, where they mixed w/the Saskatoon after it moved there.

Now I forget which listserver I saw this thread on, so I'll just post it to all
three that I belong to...

WSM covering 38 states at night might be a stretch, but I can get them on a
nightly basis in Omaha. And if you take a compass, stretch it from Nashville to
Omaha and make the circle, that circle will cover all or part of 28 states,
missing New England and everything west of the Mountain-Central Time Zone line.
That's still a pretty big chunk of the lower 48.
