Re: [IRCA] X band in Australia

Bill,

I have heard and QSL'd a lot of them through the years from 100 watters
to the regular 500 watt ones. I used to regularly hear several of them,
but since the X Band has filled up in North America, I have not heard
one in a while. Plus the DU conditions used to be better several years
back. At one time there were only a handfull of them, back in the early
80s, most were RPH stations, Radio for the Print Handicapped. They were
all 500 watts, 1RPH, 2RPH, 3RPH & 4RPH. Later 5RPH was added. They were
all on 1620 and 1629. Then there was Kensington Univ station on 1756 kHz
300w later moved to 1692 with 500w. Had a nice QSL card. Ah, the good
ol' days, when the U.S. was just using 1610 for a few TIS stations on
the X Band. There were even a couple X Banders in Taiwan.
