Re: [IRCA] Off topic - Digital Audio Recorders

Tom

I have a Marantz PMD620 which I love. It can record countless hours of stuff on a SDHC card and supports various MP3 and WAV coding rates. It has a line input, too. I've been using it mainly to copy old tapes onto MP3, but it could also be used for DX recordings. It's kind of pricey, retailing for about $350. I got it for about $200 (after a $100 rebate) a couple of years ago.

I am planning on purchasing a digital audio recorder and desire
input from people who use them. What brand/model, what
features are desirable, file type (wav, MP3 etc), ease of operation,
battery life, etc. My local Walmare has two Sony models; ICD
BX800 and ICD PX820

I already have Total Recorder on my
PC but desire a simpler device to capture audio.
