[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 9-8

Hello All,

It was another interesting morning, with positive signs of a transition to
better TP propagation. Like Dennis, I found it one of the best mornings of
the new season.

738-BEL2 in Taiwan was back again with fair Chinese audio, and at 1309 was
even mixing with a weak HLKG (for the first TP mix of the season). 1134 kHz
also seemed to have a TP mix, with KBS fighting it out with an apparent
CNR1 around 1329. Threshold audio was back on 756 (apparent Chinese) and 891
(apparent Japanese, but probably about 9 "S" units weaker than what Derek
had :-) Like Dennis, I noticed weak audio on 648 for the first time this
season, and 1566-HLAZ had a very nice signal here, like in Salmon Creek.
Let's hope the trend continues!

The following were heard on a modified C.Crane SWP Slider model (with 7.5"
loopstick) inductively coupled to a 7.5' sided PVC tuned passive loop (in
the rainy back yard):

594 JOAK Tokyo, Japan Fair Japanese audio around 1311, but with deep
fades
648 VOR (presumed) Threshold audio around 1310; too weak to ID language
657 Pyongyang, N. Korea Shouted Korean tirades and obsolete music, fair
at 1307
666 JOBK Osaka, Japan Japanese audio playing hide and seek around 1312
738 BEL2 Penghu, Taiwan Back with fair Chinese audio around 1318 during
pop

Earlier in the morning (around 1314) this station had been
mixing with an
apparent HLKG, for the first TP mix this season

747 JOIB Sapporo, Japan Good audio through KXL splatter around 1315
756 CNR1 (presumed) Threshold audio (apparently Chinese) around 1321
774 JOUB Akita, Japan Fair audio at 1314 but ruined by severe Seattle
splatter
828 JOBB Osaka, Japan Fair NHK2 audio in and out on the clear
frequency, 1324
891 JOHK (presumed) Weak audio with Japanese intonation, but couldn't
check //
936 China (presumed) Another frequency with audio just above the noise
level
972 HLCA Dangjin, S. Korea Good Korean audio at times from 1315-1325
1053 Korean Jammer Had a healthy buzzing signal this morning
1134 KBS-UnID Another apparent TP mix this morning. Korean-sounding
audio gave way
to Chinese-sounding pop music in this MP3 at 1329

1377 China (presumed) Weak threshold audio in and out for most of morning
1566 HLAZ Jeju, S. Korea Best TP signal as usual; strong Japanese at
1313
1575 VOA Ban Rassom, Thailand Fair Asiatic language audio in and out
around 1310

For those interested in a photo of the 7.5' PVC Box Loop antenna (and the
DXer who uses it), it is posted at _http://www.mediafire.com/i/?kmjuzy1hmxz_
