Re: [IRCA] TAs from the WCNA

Barry:

TA's are in Northern Alberta most afternoons starting an hour or so before local sunset and then fading down into the noise around sunset. Most of the time very few have any audio, tho the carriers show quite clearly on the Perseus waterfall display. Today was very much different with the first TA (1422-Germany) showing up at 13:20 MST (20:20UTC) At that time of day the sun here is only 30 minutes or so past it's zenith so it was real early for a TA. In all I had around 30 or so with audio plus about the same number of carriers before they faded down around sunset. Most were European in origin with only a couple from the middle east. Some hadn't been heard here in years, like 945 & 711 from France and others were regulars like 1134-Croatia and UK-1215. Two frequencies, 855 and 1152, each had 2 stations fighting for dominance. The beauty of owning a Perseus is the ability to record the whole band while listening to one particular frequency. The downside is the huge files it produces and the time it takes to run thru them all. I still wading thru them.
