Hi Nick,
Thanks for your report of this morning's TP's.
Early this morning around 0900 UTC there was also fair audio here on 594,
738, 747 and 972 kHz, plus decent carriers on 666, 1053 and 1134 kHz. This
was far more impressive than the local sunrise period, but still probably
not worth checking at such a bizarre hour.
The December doldrums seem to have arrived in force. With lots of
admiration for you and Bill Block sticking out the lackluster conditions every day,
I'll probably leave the TP-chasing to others until the band improves.
There are just too many DSP ultralight models that need to be hot-rodded.

Again, sunrise enhancement was a misnomer....several visits to the radio
over 1420 to 1600UT showed only carriers for the most part, with the big
guns occasionally showing wretched audio in the splatter. Below 600 kHz was
very quiet this morning at 1600UT, so weak NHK-1 audio was heard on 567 //
594
Checked the SDR14 files, and in contrast, at 0858UT, 567 and 594 were both
pretty readable, though not in parallel until the pips on the hour. At
1300, CNR-1 on 639 and Mayak on 576 were heard also, but quite weak. So,
better than at sunrise, but still not that good...
best wishes,
Nick
