Re: [IRCA] 1090 in Megheeco
Didn't KFI's new tower design reduce skywave, making it less audible at
greater distances? I used to hear KFI here in Indiana at least a few
times per season. Since they have went back to 50 Kw and the new tower,
I haven't heard them once (although the band IS more crowded than it
used to be).
I should be in an okay position to hear KNX at least once a week (in
season) but local WFNI (ex WIBC) stops them. I logged KNX once, when
WIBC's rig got knocked out by a power outage. Curtis Sadowski in
Illinois (120 miles west of me) gets KNX all of the time.

Bill,
KFI has never had a great signal up here. It is ok, but not even as good
as KNX. KNX is the best from LA here. The Bay area is 350 miles closer
and is easier for the signal to be strong. Both KGO (Directional this
way) and powerhouse KNBR ND. KCBS is weaker sending most of their signal
South. KCBS's signal is a killer in Palm Springs at night.
