[IRCA] WNXT-1260 Silent

Hi Group:

WNXT, 1260, Portsmouth, Ohio,, appears to have gone silent.  I was in the Portsmouth area Sunday (6/14) and noticed they were off.  Since then I've checked 1260 several times, both day and night, and no sign on them.  Though they put little of their signal in this direction they are usually listenable all day and in the mix at night, but only WWMI/NNDE here Wednesday night.

Clear Channel appears to have restructured its Huntington-Ashland-Ironton AMs with WVHU-800 and WZZW-1600 simulcastiing conservative talk while WTCR-1420 and WIRO-1230 are FSR.  (WIRO was //WVHU/WZZW.)  WCMI, 1340, Ashland and WRVC, 930, Huntington both carry ESPN, but do not give a multi-station ID so they must be independent operations.  This puts two ESPN stations in the same market.  The 1080 iin Cannonsburg, KY, is still religious (mostly preaching, apparently) and the 1470 in Huntington continues its Gospel format.  The other AM in the market, WGOH, Grayson, KY, could best be described as "traditional country/bluegrass."

WPAY, Portsmouth is still on with talk (this one had a long silent period earlier this decade) and WIOI-1010, New Boston is MOYL-type oldies, though Sunday they were carrying local short-track stock car racing.
