[IRCA] Crate Loop kits now available
Hi all:
For those without ready access to parts and/or soldering irons, I was
thinking of offering a kit, and so here I go! I can send you:
> 125' of 18 gauge wire (mine uses about 109' for the coil,
so this would be 2-3 turns too many, just in case)
> a 10-530 pf mini variable capacitor with shaft/knob assembly
> presoldered leads off of the capacitor with alligator clips
> foam adhesive tape to affix the capacitor
All you have to do is (1) wrap the wire over the crate, (2) clip the two
ends of the wire to the leads on the capacitor, and (3) stick the
capacitor to the crate and put the knob on with a little screwdriver. You
might want to punch/drill a couple holes in the crate for the wire and/or
capacitor shaft.
If anyone is interested, I can send it to you for $15 (cost of parts only)
plus actual shipping charges (about $5 Priority mail in the US, or regular
mail to Canada and a few other places). If the Crate costs $10, total
project cost would be $30, a little less than a Terk Loop. As of tomorrow
when UPS promises I will get some wire, I will have enough parts for four
kits, but I could easily get more if there is interest.
If interested, drop me a line off-board at
satya(AT)sounddsl.com
I have a PayPal account, or you could send me a US$ check.
