[IRCA] TP for 26 Dec from Victoria, BC

As Dennis mentioned, conditions have improved, though not spectacularly so here. Part of that was my listening between 1415 and 1430UT, and then from 1550 onwards, so I might well have missed some good stuff fading up in the usual erratic fashion. Reception was best on the upper band in the later listening period, and the fact that CNR1 on 1593 faded up well after 1600UT and stuck around without much fading down until after 1630UT definitely points to better conditions (1566 and 1575 also had audio at that time)

pretty darn good audio (at least briefly):

774 at 1424UT; was still quite good at 1600 s/off

reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise):

828 JOBB
972 HLCA around 1600UT and afterwards
1566 HLAZ around 1600 and later, usual big carrier

not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:

1503 JOUK at 1605
1575 Thailand, best after 1600
1593 CNR1 //5030 at 1622UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise:
153 R. Rossii likely
567 JOIK likely
594 JOAK at 1612 //stronger 1503; also heard earlier
747 JOIB
945 at 1610, seemed CNR1 //5030
1134
1287 likely JOHR
1386 NHK2 s/off chimes heard weakly at 1602; at 1616 something else was there but don't know who.

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 1395, 1404, 1422, 1467, 1512, 1521; all later than 1600UT

best wishes,

Nick
