Re: [IRCA] A Notable First

Congrats on your new catch. I'm replying bcuz CHTO really seems to get out well for a 1kW X-bander and often is over Berwyn here on car radios etc. I think I'm about 40 to 45 miles from Berwyn and don't get that all that well at night. Maryland also doesn't come in here very well. I suspect CHTO can be had by the NW USA Beverage guys who should be far enough from Denver and Roseville.

Those of us in the midwest can log all the Canadian X-banders with some work. The Montrealers on the same channels as Toronto will take work, but I sometimes can get Montreal 1610 thru Toronto. Early evening seems to be a good time for that.

Hi Group:

Here's a very special new logging of a much wanted station;

1690 CHTO ON Toronto fair but under Lexington Park & Berwyn, ethic mx, ID by YL 8/28/08, 2102 (EDT); "CHTO, AM 1690, Toronto," back iinto ethnic mx. I did not get a good copy on the call letters, but the "AM 1690, Toronto" was very clear.

What makes this special? It is my first new loggiing on Bob Pietch's Grundig Satellit 800. Finally a real receiver. Thanks Maria.
