[IRCA] TP for 1 Aug from Victoria, BC
Listened from 1220-1250UT, may not have been entirely awake at times. It wasn't a morning for stations fading in for any length of time....mostly they were heard just for a minute or two. The DU's tended towards NZ and Fiji, though a couple of Aussie frequencies appeared also. I really didn't hear any Asian signals beyond 1566, but note what I thought was DU audio on 774 at 1231, just about when Orcas Island was getting a little Japanese visit, so, now I'm wondering. A few minutes earlier a definite Asian carrier was coming in on 1134, per the loop, but the hazy recollection says Aussie EE and DU direction for 774. (Aussie EE not being a sure indicator of Australia of course; NHK2 gets its English speakers from down under as well)
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly): none
reasonable audios (though often battling w/splash or noise): none
not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise: 639 at 1233UT w/island mx; heard several times more weakly before this; 774 seemed Australia at 1231 (see above);
Burbles in the splatter and noise, DU except for 1566: 567 at 1245UT; 576 at 1227; 585 at 1224; 612 at 1230; 675 at 1239 and later; 756 at 1222 and 1242; 765 at 1235; 783 at 1241; 963 at 1240; 1566 at 1231, the usual big carrier with mostly no audio
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): (DU unless noted) 738, 819, 828 w/SAH, so perhaps Asia also; 1098; 1134 at 1228, Asian direction; 1503; 1548
best wishes,
Nick
