What I often do is "sweep" the house with a portable radio, moving  
from room to room, outlet to outlet, and device to device looking for  
the offending source. I concentrate on anything that's plugged in  
(lights, appliances, etc.) In every case I've been able to find the  
problem this way. Most often it's turned out to be some "new" gadget  
that I didn't think would cause QRM (external harddrive, UPS, lamp  
dimmer, even an electric toothbrush).
