Re: [IRCA] TP's for 04-03-08

Hi Dennis and Others,

I was also listening this morning, from about 1255-1335. In general it
was a pretty modest morning, with the powerhouse stations generally down,
like Dennis said. But it was the first real chance to test out the new 14.5"
loopstick-possessing SRF-39FP ultralight in actual TP DX, so it was an
exciting morning here.

Producing strong heterodynes where the ICF-2010 had weak carriers, the
modified Prison Radio was much quicker to produce audio from an
under-modulated HLCA-972, around 1328. The same thing happened with the JOAK-594 and
JOIB-747 signals, so that the modified SRF-39FP was basically acting like a
"spotting receiver" for the ICF-2010, at least on the QRM-free frequencies. It
was a blast to experience this bizarre reversal of roles, after having used the
ICF-2010 as a "spotting receiver" for the stock ultralights.

Every ultralight DXer should have this much fun!

                         73, Gary
